Dr Tarryn Gabler completed her Paediatric Surgery qualification in 2019 through the University of the Witwatersrand. She started as a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto, as well as a senior lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand. In 2021 she opened her Private Practice at Netcare Park Lane Hospital in Parktown. Shortly after that, she joined the team at Life Brenthurst Hospital.

Although Dr Gabler is a General Paediatric Surgeon, she has a special interest in Hypospadias surgery. Dedicated to this special interest, she has attended international hypospadias workshops and observorships under the world’s most prominent hypospadiologists. She also dedicated her elective work at Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital to helping the enormous number of children in Soweto and the surrounds with accessing the surgery they so desperately need. In addition to Hypospadia, Dr Gabler also provides surgical services for all General Paediatric procedures such as congenital anomalies, abdominal wall defects, intestinal obstructions, urological defects, suspected disorders of sexual differentiation, endoscopy and neonatal services.

She has completed her Masters of Medicine in Paediatric Surgery and is a keen researcher.
